Refuse and recycling

Rubbish overflowingI support any move that proactively encourages people to recycle and reduce waste.

However, the current Council embarked on an expensive scheme that less than a year after being implemented is being reviewed and relaunched at further cost in November 2008.

I have long argued that Richmond Council should have adhered to best practice from other councils (including LibDem-run administrations) who, rather than handing out a plethora of bags and boxes to flats and houses, could have provided a single bag in which to put all recyclable waste.

I still believe that this is the best way forward and would like to hear more from you if you have any concerns or stories about rubbish collection or and recycling routines in your area.Deborah with Cllr. Marlow in Twickenham Riverside
